Homework Help Unit 0.6 Piecewise Functions

Homework Help Unit 0.6 Piecewise Functions

See below for additional definitions, examples, and explanations on how to solve the Piecewise Functions homework.

Defintions:

Evaluate  means solve the function f (x) using the given value of x. For example if: f (x) = x+2 Evaluate for f (-5) .... The answer is f (-5) = -5 + 2 = -3

Cost is the price paid for something. For example the newspaper's price is $1.50. So it costs me $1.50.

Explanation:

Question 54 on pg. 28 (is like question 59 on pg. 16) from your homework is asking you to write a function for cost C such that:

C = m1x + b when x is greater than... and C = m2x + b when x is less than ..... big hint: notice the total price of shirts drops when 50 or more shirts are ordered. What would happen to the Cost (y-value)?
